Inquiring about Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport Hotel?

August 13, 2010 - 7:29 pm 2 Comments

The hotel at the Orlando International Airport, the Hyatt Regency Hotel, no prices for rooms are listed. Does this mean the hotel is free as long as you are flying to the airport or something? I really need a very close by room to stay before heading out the next morning to Disney World.

No, it’s absolutely not free. Here is the website for that location, you can check rates here:

How do YOU get rid of telemarketers?

August 13, 2010 - 7:29 pm 17 Comments

Just got off the phone to a telemarketer. I was extremely rude to her and I feel pretty slack now.
It was one of those (very polite but thick Indian accent) Congratulations you’ve won two days free accommodation! Yay! The catch is you have to book a week in a luxury hotel on the Gold-coast in the middle of winter that you don’t want in the first place.

Any tips or funny stories about getting rid of them?

well,, either:
1.you can have a little fun && mess w/em,, or start talking to em,, or s/thing like that,, ITS FUN. :D

–OR–
2.just tell them that your not interested && to take you off the call list.

Can you recommend any good hotels near Paddington or Hyde Park?

August 8, 2010 - 10:30 pm 5 Comments

Looking for a nice hotel to stay on a Sunday night, either close to Paddington Station or around the Hyde Park area. Ideally, a quiet and romantic luxury or boutique hotel which serves breakfast would be nice. Have you stayed somewhere in this area that you can recommend? If so, which website did you book it through?

Thanks!

The main area for hotels in the hyde park area is Park Lane.

Here are some of the popular hotels in the area:

InterContinental Park Lane Hotel: £160 ($250) per night.

The Lanesborough (one of the top hotels in London): £475 ($740) per night.

The Dorchester (also one of London’s top hotels): £301 ($470) per night.

The Berkely: £299 ($470) per night.

The Halkin: £260 ($405) per night.

These are just a few of the Hotels in the area, visit www.hotels.com for more.

Hope this helps :)

How do I travel from Berlin airport to our hotel?

August 8, 2010 - 10:30 pm 4 Comments

A friend and I will be arriving at Berlin Tegel airport and we will need to get to our hotel: art’otel berlin mitte, by park plaza. I think the address is: Wallstrasse 70-73, Berlin D-10179, Germany. Could anyone advise what our travel options are? Also any tips to make our visit a good one? We already have an idea of things we want to see. Thanks for your help!

The hotel is located directly opposite the subway station "Märkisches Museum"
There is no U-Bahn at the Berlin-Tegel airport, the other Y!A contributor may have mixed it up with the Berlin International Airport at Tempelhof.
From Tegel you take Bus X9 to Ernst-Reuter Platz (16 minutes) and change to subway U2 in the direction of Pankow (19 minutes). Märkisches Museum is the 12th stop. The stop before is called Spittelmarkt. Cost for a single ticket (Zone AB) is 2,10 €.

Alternately you may use a taxi. The Berlin taxi association provides an internet taxi fare calculator, which amounts the fare for this distance (12 kilometers) at 20,10 €. However, that is based on optimal trafic conditions without jams.

How does one "book passage" on a cargo or other non-luxury ship?

August 8, 2010 - 10:30 pm 1 Comment

I’ve heard about this as an inexpensive (though slow) way to get across the ocean, "booking passage" on a freighter or cargo ship. How does one do this? I know the accommodations would be pretty Spartan, and the food wouldn’t be wonderful, but it’d be cheaper than flying.

If you tap "cargo ship travel" into your search engine you will find links to quite a few web sites with all the information you need!

We also have a "find a room" service that can be useful if you want a tailor-made selection of rooms that suit your needs and preferences.
